Maya Angelou – Still I Rise

The first poem in my anthology, Maya Angelou’s ‘Still I Rise’ was published in 1978, the title piece for her collection ‘And Still I Rise’.

Here is the poet talking a little about the ideas behind it and then reciting the poem. The words from her recital are slightly different to those in the version for my exam, which I will post separately.
